Fellow Bio

Theresa LaRue is a professional helicopter pilot that experienced first-hand the volatility of our energy sector when she was laid off in 2020 due to Covid impacts on oil production.
She decided to pivot and went back to school to finish her undergraduate degree in International Business, which she completed earlier this year at North Seattle College.
After some introspection and heightened climate concerns, she decided to continue her education at University of Washington in the Sustainable Transportation graduate program, which begins this fall.
As a CivicSpark fellow, Theresa will provide data analysis and asset management support for the city of Bremerton in Washington state. In her role she will support the city’s 11 functional departments using degradation curve methodology to find inefficiencies in expenditures, and will work closely with the city council on additional projects as requested.
