Fellow Bio

Sutton Payne is a recent graduate from UCLA, where he earned his B.A. in Political Science and minor in Environmental Systems and Society. With a background in emissions research for both local government and environmental non-profits, he is passionate about exploring the intersection between decarbonization and environmental policy. He hopes to contribute to equity-based efforts to enact climate policy and address existing social inequalities. Sutton has interest in understanding issues such as food insecurity, climate displacement and health risks through data science patterns. Outside of work, he enjoys running, hiking and free diving back home in Miami.
