Fellow Bio:
Jay grew up in North Dallas where he initally attended the University of Texas, before having a change in course from engineering, where he took a gap year and spent it in the Montana Conservation Corps working on public lands. He then transferred to Whitman College where he completed his bachelors in economics. He is now working for Ventura County on Regional Planning and resource issues, where he hopes to gain experience working firsthand on public and environmental policy for California. Jay has a strong interest in the use of natural resources and the people who rely on them, and is particularly interested in the usage of data science to better understand trends and forces in the world. Outside of work Jay likes playing guitar, good food, and spending time outside exploring.
