rceaCivicSpark is partnering with the Redwood Coast Energy Authority in the North Coast. Redwood Coast Energy Authority is not only a regional partner, but also completing projects with CivicSpark focusing on energy efficiency and alternative fuels.

North Coast members Hanna Nielsen and Drew Clark are completing the alternative fuels project with the Redwood Coast Energy Authority, working to build EV infrastructure and encourage alternative fuels in the region. Hanna Nielson, new to the alt. fuels project, has been busy attending youth summits, arts nights, and other events, providing climate change outreach and education resources to students and educators.  Stephen Luther recently reflected on his past three months completing direct install, ‘It is gratifying to be on the rung of the ladder that leads to a public service career in an industry that I know is making a difference on climate change.’ Steve is transitioning to provide remote assistance on greenhouse gas inventorying and outreach for the Bay Ridge Trail.

Develop technical guidance to assist local governments with advancing their Zero Net Energy initiatives for new construction and retrofits.

Meet our Team

goldbergLarry Goldberg, Regional Supervisor
Larry Goldberg holds an MBA from Humboldt State University and has successfully built and sold three businesses for the North Coast. He currently is the Executive Director of Plan It Green, a non-profit environmental group focusing on building sustainable green communities and re-localizing economies. Larry has also been working on programs to build “resilient” communities through the “Transition Town” movement since 2012.
clarkDrew Clark
During his undergraduate at Beloit College, Drew Clark’s studies were focused around physics and the environment. Drew completed the Environmental Resource Engineering Graduate Program at Humboldt State University studying energy and the triple bottom line.
douglasRobert Douglass
Robert Douglass holds a B.A. in International Affairs from Northern Arizona University where he focused on energy policy, economics, and sustainable development. He worked for the Institute for Sustainable Energy Solutions at NAU at Flagstaff Speak Up, where he worked on sustainability issues.
lutherStephen Luther
Stephen is passionate about public service and working to create healthier, happier communities. Stephen earned his B.A. from Williams College in History and Political Science with a concentration in Leadership Studies. He also holds a Certificate of Study in Natural Resource Planning from Humboldt State University.
nielsonHanna Nielsen
Hanna Nielsen received her B.A. in Religious Studies and Biology at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. She spent two summers in rural Montana working with a nonprofit on environmental conservation issues.
