Paulina Mejía

Staff Bio

Paulina is a California native who graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in History from Cal Poly Pomona and received a Master’s degree in Public Policy with a concentration in Environmental Policy from UC Irvine. She served as a previous CivicSpark Fellow for the 2020-2021 service year with the City of Riverside working on COVID-19 Recovery and Sustainability Initiatives under the City’s Office of Sustainability.

Paulina has a passion for community-based projects, research and working towards creating a sustainable environment for all. Prior to her work as a CivicSpark Fellow, Paulina has worked in various community-based and nonprofit organizations and local governments focused on workforce development, higher education, community outreach and environmental sustainability.

Paulina will be the new Southern California Regional Coordinator for the CivicSpark program and hopes to be a resource for incoming CivicSpark Fellows on their journey to becoming resilient leaders in climate action and social justice in their communities.
