Mariah Thomson

Staff Bio

Mariah Thomson is the Washington Regional Coordinator for the CivicSpark program. She joined CivicWell with a background in salmon habitat restoration and ecological forest management. Previously, she worked at a conservation district where she provided technical assistance to landowners, led workshops in habitat creation, and coordinated stream restoration projects. She served as an AmeriCorps Member leading crews in urban habitat restoration and trail building. Most recently, she was managing an environmental job training program for high school youth.

Mariah has a B.A. in Environmental Policy & Sociology from the University of Puget Sound. She is passionate about community centric approaches to land management and climate mitigation. She is excited to support emerging leaders in their career development and growth.

Mariah grew up in the foothills of the Sierras in an area called Apple Hill, CA. She now resides in Seattle where she enjoys the Cascade mountains to the east and the Olympics to the west. When not on the trails, she can be found playing soccer, biking, reading suspense novels, or testing new recipes.
