Amber McGarvey is the Operations Project Coordinator for the Governor’s Initiative AmeriCorps program, CivicSpark, which provides capacity building support for local governments throughout California to address climate change.
Before joining LGC in January 2018, Amber worked at Strategic Energy Innovations (SEI) based in San Rafael, CA. At SEI she supported the Energize Colleges program which empowers full-time Fellows to develop energy career pathways and sustainability education at participating campuses. She also implemented the Energize Schools program which helps California schools invest in energy efficiency and renewable energy projects while engaging students in energy conservation, education, and leadership.
Amber previously served a term as an AmeriCorps Member at City Year Sacramento and received a BA from Dickinson College where she double majored in Environmental Studies and History.
