Amanda McSwine serves as the CivicSpark AmeriCorps Grant Administrator. She was born and raised in Indianapolis, IN and began her professional journey as an AmeriCorps VISTA member in Newberry, South Carolina. As an AmeriCorps VISTA member, Amanda worked to build the capacity of local organizations to fight poverty. Falling in love with the work, Amanda served three years as a VISTA member which led her to obtain a Master of Social Work degree with a focus on Social, Community, and Economic Development from the University of South Carolina. Before joining CivicSpark, Amanda was the operations manager for the South Carolina Service Commission (AmeriCorps SC). As a social worker and systems thinker, Amanda is driven by her passion for social justice, efficiency, and process.
In her free time, Amanda loves all things nerdy (especially anime) and spending time with her feline companion, Chadwick.
