Rosa served as a 2019- 2020 CivicSpark Fellow with Compton Community College District (CCCD), in conjunction with the California Community Colleges–Chancellor’s Office to implement a historic statewide student housing project. As a Fellow, Rosa facilitated an Implementation Workgroup that met throughout her 11-month Fellowship. In addition to her key role in the Workgroup, she also supported Compton College leadership in financial and financing research, identifying strategic partnerships, overseeing project management related tasks, and supported community and stakeholder engagement events related to the Student Housing project. One of her memorable accomplishments was working alongside other Fellows to develop the Executive Annual Impact Report for CivicSpark project partners.
Rosa holds a B.A in Ethnic Studies from California State University, Northridge and is actively applying to graduate programs.
Currently, Rosa is participating in the first Multicultural Exchange for Sustainable Agriculture (MESA) training program at the Institute for Sustainability in California State University, Northridge. This cohort is part of a nationwide network of emerging and current farmers in the Agroecology, Farming, and Food Pathways program funded by the USDA. In addition to her training program, she is also participating in a Fellowship with Nature For All, a non-profit community organization focused on preserving the San Gabriel Mountains.
