Colgan Powell is Program Assistant for Ceres Investor Network on Climate Risk and Sustainability based in San Francisco. Ceres is a nongovernmental organization whose mission is to mobilize investor and business leadership to build a thriving, sustainable global economy.
Ms. Powell was a 2017-18 AmeriCorps CivicSpark Fellow with the County of Sonoma Energy and Sustainability Division in Santa Rosa, California. She implemented energy efficiency and water conservation programs; and served as Program Coordinator for the California Green Business Program, a statewide program to help small to medium-sized businesses incorporate more sustainable practices.
Colgan is a 2017 graduate of Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. She double majored in Environmental Science & Policy and Theatre, with study abroad experience focused on green environmental development in Northern Europe and Israel. She completed a pre-M.B.A summer program at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.
Ms. Powell hopes to expand her knowledge about sustainable investment practices and advocate for stronger climate, clean energy and water policies at all levels of government. She aspires to work with companies to achieve their commitments to responsible business behaviors and sustainable practices.
Colgan enjoys half marathons, clean commutes to work, and cooking for her friends and family. Her family is from Kansas and New Mexico.
