Krystalin Bullicer is a 2017-18 CivicSpark Climate Alum residing in Ventura, CA. At the completion of her service year, she accepted the role of Sustainability Coordinator with her project partner, the Housing Authority City of San Buenaventura (HACSB). Her duties have expanded beyond community outreach and utility data management to include interfacing with staff, consultants, and residents on a multitude of initiatives towards energy and resource efficiency. Krystalin is coordinating projects such as: the Department of Energy’s Better Building Challenge, HACSB’s Healthy Homes Initiative, and LEEDND and NetZero developments that feature graywater filtration, photovoltaic panels, electric vehicle parking, and community gardens. Krystalin recognizes and is grateful for her agency’s support in integrating sustainability in all aspects of affordable housing (from development, to property operations, to resident services) and she looks forward to supporting efforts to make housing affordable, healthier, and safer for all.
