Up to 27 Fellows will be supporting up to 27 public agencies across the Inland Empire (Riverside and San Bernardino Counties in Southern California). Fellows will be serving to support and fill organizational capacity needs in the area of Energy Efficiency, project identification, and energy building identification and benchmarking, climate/energy action planning, outreach of workforce, education & training into the communities, and other sustainability initiatives. Historically the cities in the subregion have lacked the capacity to track, monitor, implement and comply with various energy and environmental statewide goals and requirements. Service Needs & Plans

To develop an energy efficiency master plan for the City’s facilities and fleet divisions, develop clean energy partnerships, and identify energy efficiency projects and funding.

Project Description

This project will be overseen by the City’s Public Works Department. Project initiatives will focus on developing an energy-efficiency master plan for the City, developing clean energy partnerships with utility and program administrators, and identifying energy-efficiency projects that are relatively low-risk investments while also pursuing opportunities for financing (i.e. financial support through grants, rebates, and loans). The project seeks to establish an energy efficient concept plan, promote avoidance of building new generation facilities, and encourages public health and environment benefits.
