Up to 27 Fellows will be supporting up to 27 public agencies across the Inland Empire (Riverside and San Bernardino Counties in Southern California). Fellows will be serving to support and fill organizational capacity needs in the area of Energy Efficiency, project identification, and energy building identification and benchmarking, climate/energy action planning, outreach of workforce, education & training into the communities, and other sustainability initiatives. Historically the cities in the subregion have lacked the capacity to track, monitor, implement and comply with various energy and environmental statewide goals and requirements. Service Needs & Plans

Assess energy efficiency of City facilities, analyze the solar permitting process – develop process improvement recommendations and outreach / communication materials, manage the City’s existing EV project to bring charging stations to the Towne Center.

Project Description

The projects identified above will enable the City to reduce energy costs, enhance service, and better offer renewal energy sources improving the community’s overall energy efficiency. To move forward and implement these initiatives, the City has a need for expertise and staffing. With only 11 full time staff, the City does not have the resources available to fully commit to these projects to see them through in a timely manner.
